It’s safe to say that I have had my share of physical challenges after having contracted the polio virus at the age of eight months. I was helped along the way by several professionals, including orthopedic doctors, physical therapists, personal trainers, yoga instructors, and Pilates instructors. Most of these activities took hard work and commitment from me to see results.
Despite my physical challenges, I have been able to be relatively active in my life. Now that I’m in my 70s, though, it’s getting harder to stay physically active and to avoid aggravating the adaptations I’ve made over the years. Joint pain and muscle weakness have hindered even the simplest of my daily activities, and they combined to make me believe that I was headed toward a decline in the quality of my life.
After having pulled a back muscle, I took my Pilates instructor’s advice to consider chiropractic care with Dr. Kris. I deliberately chose to see Dr. Kris because of her holistic approach to my well-being. After the first consultation, I knew that Dr. Kris had the knowledge and the right strategy to get me back on track. I have never had anyone approach caring for me in such a complete and total way.
Dr. Kris has made a significant difference in my life, both physically and mentally. I am now moving with much more ease and fluidity. I feel stronger and more confident in what I can take on beyond just my daily activities. Headaches are diminishing as well. Mentally, I feel supported by Dr. Kris (and Pam!) in the best possible way. I love seeing their smiling faces, which lift my spirits and make me feel truly cared for. I’m seeing more possibilities for myself, which in turn has given me a more positive outlook for my future.
